Livestock

This is the module a general system does not have. A live animal is a biological asset whose cost accumulates and whose value changes, not a fixed stock item.

What it stands on

Livestock does not run without these modules. The ones that always run are in every instance, and no plan that includes Livestock is accepted without the subscribable ones among them.

From the real module registry: what each module needs in order to run.

Every head has a record, and every riyal spent on it has an entry

  • A record per head: ear tag, breed, age, intake weight, supplier
  • Five cost kinds that post onto the head: feed, water, veterinary treatment, labour, transport
  • Successive weights and the growth rate, and a death with a recorded cause and the write-off entry that follows
  • A slaughter order with the halal certificate number and the dressing percentage held on it
  • Carcass disassembly that spreads the cost over the cuts in proportion to sales value, with yield standards and tolerance bands
  • Measurement at fair value less costs to sell under IAS 41

How far this reaches today

  • Disassembly outputs land in a single location — there is no routing of each output to its own place
