Accounting

Every document in Sudo — an invoice, a goods receipt, a stock issue or a payroll run — passes through one posting engine and produces a balanced entry. A posted entry cannot be edited at the database level itself, and a correction is a reversing entry plus a new one.

What it stands on

Accounting does not run without these modules. The ones that always run are in every instance, and no plan that includes Accounting is accepted without the subscribable ones among them.

From the real module registry: what each module needs in order to run.

One posting engine, and an entry that cannot be edited

  • An Arabic chart of accounts ready with 78 accounts, which you can extend, reorder and archive
  • The five financial statements under IAS 1: trial balance, income statement, statement of financial position, cash flow, changes in equity, with the notes
  • Fiscal periods that close and reopen, and a year-end close that moves the result to equity
  • Recurring entries, drafts with approval, and journal import from a file
  • Dimensions on the entry line: business unit, cost centre, branch, currency
  • Receivables and payables aged 30/60/90, statements of account, and reconciliation against the control account

How far this reaches today

  • Export to Excel or PDF — export is CSV only
  • The statement of financial position is not filtered by cost centre (the trial balance, the income statement and the general ledger are)
  • There is no project dimension on the entry line; a project follows a cost centre
  • End-of-service benefit is calculated on leaving and does not accrue monthly
  • No scheduled reports and no custom report builder
